가장 최근에 발생한(7.24) 하노이-까오방노선의 여객버스 전도추락사고로 인하여 4명 사망과 16명 부상으로 보고된 바, 좁은 산악지형의 급커브구간에서 30여 미터아래로 추락전도된 사고.
중부 다낭과 콘툼을 잇는 로쏘패쓰 역시 죽음의 도로로 전도추락사고로 인한 인명피해가 끊임없이 보도되는 바,
제가 경험한 바 역시 오토바이로 여행하는 중에 하루에 3번이나 이 도로의 길가에서 대형화물트럭이 전도된 사고현장을 목격한 적이 있습니다.
역시 좁은 2차선도로의 급커브 지형으로 운전에 능숙하지 않거나 부주의 운전, 때론 장거리 운전으로인한 졸음과 피로를 쫓기 위한 각성제 약물복용 등으로 사고라는게 공통적인 원인으로 규명됨
8~시간 이상의 장거리오버나이트버스 노선 특히 심야노선의 경우 운전자가 두명탑승하여 교대로 운전하기도 하지만 도로인프라가 제대로 갖춰지지 않은 베트남의 실상으로 인해 언제어느때 목숨이 오고갈수 있기에 각별한 주의가 필요.

The accident occurred at 5:30am on Sunday when a sleeper bus travelling from Hà Nội to CaoBằngProvince, carrying 20 passengers, suddenly plunged into a 30-metre abyss at the foot of Cao Bắc Pass. After the accident, the injured were taken to Cao Bằng GeneralHospital for treatment.
The accident happened when a coach carrying 44 people bound for the southern province of Bình Phước fell off the road into a 20m deep abyss early Saturday morning. The dead included two 10-year-old children.
Three were killed instantly and another died on the way to the hospital after the driver lost control of the bus, which was going toward Cao Bang City, at around 6 a.m.
Ten others were severely injured as the bus went off the road and plunged into a pass 30 meters below.
The bus with sleeper berths was carrying 30 people.
Medical personnel and firefighters were rushed to the accident site. By 9 a.m., all bodies and injured passengers were sent to the Cao Bang Hospital, said a local official.
Police are investigating the incident.
